Longtime Milwaukeean Lenore Kupper (nee Schlossmann) of Fox Point died July 22 of emphysema. She was 75.
She was born in Appleton, where she graduated from Appleton Memorial High School. She received a bachelor of education degree at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and settled in Milwaukee in 1948.
She taught in the Milwaukee Public Schools at Benjamin Franklin School and belonged to the Milwaukee Teachers Educational Association. After her retirement, she volunteered at the Milwaukee Mental Health Association and at Jewish Family Services Child Development Center.
She was a member of Congregation Sinai and its Sisterhood.
She is survived by sons James Kupper of Des Plaines, Ill., and Marc Kupper of Fox Point; daughter Nancy (Robert) Smith of Buffalo Grove, Ill.; and two grandchildren. Her husband, Richard E. Kupper, died in 1970.
Rabbi Dovid Rapoport conducted funeral services on July 25. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Memorials to Congregation Agudas Achim Chabad, Congregation Sinai, Wisconsin Society for Jewish Learning or the American Lung Association were suggested by the family.
