Karen Lynn Flesch of Topeka, Kan., died on Feb. 26. She was 31.
Born in Minneapolis, Flesch graduated from Nicolet High School in 1995. She went on to earn a bachelor of arts degree from Oberlin College in 1999 and a master’s of social work from Washburn University in Topeka, in 2005.
She worked as a social worker in Topeka. She enjoyed children, animals, reading, writing and music.
Flesch is preceded in death by her brother, Marc Andrew Flesch. She is survived by her parents, Ellen and Dr. James Flesch of Fox Point.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Blane Goodman Funeral Service, LLC. Rabbi David Cohen officiated services at Congregation Sinai on Feb. 29. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
The family appreciates memorial contributions to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals or a mental health organization of the donor’s choice.
