Milwaukeean Joseph J. Wolfe died of congestive heart failure on Feb. 5. He was 79.
He was born in Canada and came in 1924 to Milwaukee, where he attended North Division High School. He was the owner of American Junk Dealers.
He was active in Congregation Anshai Lebowitz and Anshe Sfard Kehillat Torah. According to his family, he enjoyed writing letters to the local newspapers, and had 73 of them published.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalyn (nee Gash), earlier this year. He is survived by daughters Marilynne Sabovic of Brown Deer and Helene (Robert) Walerstein of Mequon; sons David Wolfe of Milwaukee and Morrie (Antoinette) Wolfe of Fox Point; sisters Bella Wolfe and Sarah Baum; brother Aaron Wolfe; and five grandchildren.
Rabbis Bernard Reichman and Nachman Levine officiated at the funeral on Feb. 6. Burial was in Agudas Achim Cemetery.
