The coming Jewish Book & Culture Fair will offer “an interest piece … for everyone,” said Dorene Paley, the community services director for the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center.
The fourth annual fair, which will begin Nov. 14 during National Jewish Book Month, aims to “accommodate a lot of needs, subjects and time frames” within the community, according to Cindy Benjamin, JCC Jewish arts and cultural coordinator, who, with Paley and a committee of 13 chaired by Romaine Backer, helped organize the fair.
“We’ve tapped into a lot of populations,” said Paley. This year, the fair committee “worked hard to bring in people for a younger audience,” though there are “no boundaries.
There’s something for all generations,” she said.
Harry W. Schwartz Bookshops will provide a bookstore at the JCC, featuring hundreds of titles, of which, Benjamin said, “a good number are more recently published. It’s a little bit of an experiment.”
The bookstore will open one hour before each presentation or by appointment, and will offer free gift-wrapping and author signings.
