Former Kenosha resident Irving Luskin died in Buffalo Grove, Ill., on July 18 after a 19-year battle with leukemia. He was 83.
He was born in Chicago. In 1946, he and his wife Beverly (nee Kalb), a Kenosha native, settled there. He was for 27 years the purchasing agent for Phillips Bros., a wholesale candy, tobacco and sundries distributor.
He was an active member of Beth Hillel Temple, serving on its board of trustees, belonging to the Brotherhood and teaching in the religious school. He also was a longtime member and past president of the local chapter of B’nai B’rith.
He is survived by his wife of almost 59 years Beverly Luskin; sons Ronald (Terry Ruzicka) Luskin of Cedarburg and Robert (Lynne) Luskin of Highland Park, Ill.; brothers Eli (Bertha) Luskin of Sunrise, Fla., and Abraham Luskin of Chicago; and two grandchildren.
Rabbi Dena Feingold officiated at the funeral on July 20 in Wilmette, Ill. Burial was in B’nai Zedek Cemetery in Kenosha.
The family would appreciate memorials to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Greater Milwaukee.
