Irving H. Armour

Irving H. Armour of Fox Point died Jan. 26 at the age of 84.

A native of Grand Rapids, Mich., he attended the University of Michigan and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He served in the military for five years during World War II and was discharged as a second lieutenant.

He was the retired president of Rapco Leather, Inc., a tannery located in South Milwaukee. Interested in the arts, he was a founding board member and past president of the Artists Series at the Pabst. He also was a member of Congregation Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun, B’nai B’rith, Children’s Outing Association and Rotary International.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Armour (nee Hersch); daughters Susan (Michael Seidman) Armour Seidman and Julie (Paul Matzner) Armour, both of Milwaukee, and Elaine Armour of Los Angeles; and four grandchildren.

Rabbis Marc Berkson and David Brusin officiated at the funeral on Jan. 29. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

The family suggested memorials to the Milwaukee Jewish Day School.
