Hildegard Samenfeld (nee Pfifferling) of Shorewood died Dec. 27 of a heart ailment. She was 82.
A native of Germany, she and her parents and younger sister immigrated to Milwaukee in 1939 on the last ship from Nazi Germany to America, according to her family.
A member of Congregation Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun, she volunteered at the St. Michael’s Hospital for the past 28 years. She enjoyed family trips and spending time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by husband Erich Samenfeld in 1973. She is survived by sons Gary (Debra) Samenfeld of Greenville, S.C., and Dennis (Sandy) Samenfeld of Milwaukee; sister Lore Keller of Milwaukee; and three grandchildren.
Rabbi Marc Berkson officiated at funeral services Dec. 29. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
