Harold N. Weiner

Former Milwaukeean Harold N. Weiner, 76, died May 7 in Clearwater, Fla., of heart disease.

He was born in Minneapolis and grew up in Appleton, where he was active in AZA. After moving to Milwaukee in 1947, he joined the Jewish Community Center, which became the center of his life. He loved to lift weights and work out, and met his future wife at the JCC when it was located on Prospect Ave.

He worked in the real estate profession, and was a member of Congregations Anshai Lebowitz and Beth Israel. He and his wife of 41 years, Sondra Weiner (nee Schulkin), moved to Florida from Fox Point in 1998.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons Dr. Mark (Dr. Amy Lakritz) Weiner of Canton, Ohio, and David (Gaby Olazabal) Weiner of Menlo Park., Calif.; daughter Lauren (Howard) Cohn of Northbrook, Ill.; sisters Gert (Morris) Shechtman of Bayside and Bess Klugman of St. Louis Park, Minn.; brother Phillip (Lisa) Weiner of Appleton; and eight grandchildren.

Rabbi Bernard Reichman officiated at the funeral on May 9. Burial was in Anshai Lebowitz Cemetery.
