Grace S. Silverman

Funeral services were held July 16 for Grace Silverman (nee Saxe) of Bayside. She died July 13 at the age of 83.

The Milwaukee native graduated from Ashland High School and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she earned a degree in social work. She did post-graduate work there, also in social work.

She was the president of Crest Plastics, Inc., and had operated other packaging companies with her husband, Jack M. Silverman.

She was interested in horse racing and regularly attended the races. In addition, she owned several horses over the years.

She belonged to many organizations and was a member of Congregation Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons Barry (Elizabeth Wadsworth) Wine of New York, N.Y., and Mark (Mia Dobrasin) Silverman of Santa Monica, Calif.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Rabbi Marc Berkson officiated at the service. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Memorials to the Ronald McDonald House or breast cancer-related agencies would be appreciated by the family.
