Former Milwaukeean Gloria Evelyn Shindell died Nov. 30 in Denver of lung cancer. She was 77.
She was born in Jersey City, N.J., and lived in Milwaukee from 1966 until she and her husband, Dr. Sidney Shindell, moved to Denver in 2001.
After graduating from high school in 1943, she became a lab technician and worked in the blood bank at Graduate Hospital in New York.
A housewife, she was a member of Congregation Sinai and its Sisterhood and supported the Milwaukee Jewish Federation. After moving to Denver, she joined Congregation Emanuel and the Jewish Community Center. She especially enjoyed interacting with her family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters Barbara Shindell and Judy (Scott) Pearson of Denver; sons Roger Shindell of Chicago and Lawrence Shindell of Milwaukee; sister Shirley Kleinman of Denver; and eight grandchildren.
Services and burial were held in Denver on Dec. 2.
