Gertrude (Goldie) Schulman

Milwaukee native Gertrude (Goldie) Schulman (nee Hansher) died of complications of old age April 20. She was 90.

She was a 1931 graduate of North Division High School. She also earned a degree from the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music in piano.

Her daughter, Shelley (Arnold) Snap of Gurnee, Ill., said that she was known in their neighborhood for the beautiful piano music that her neighbors enjoyed while taking their evening strolls.

A homemaker, she was a member of Congregation Anshai Lebowitz and its Sisterhood, and Jewish War Veterans Auxiliary.

She is also survived by daughter Florine Bobbie (Sheldon) Fishman of Whitefish Bay; brother Marvin Hansher and sister Ruth Kohler, both of Milwaukee; three grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. Her husband, Carl Schulman, preceded her in death in 2002.

Graveside services were held at Second Home Cemetery on April 23. Rabbi Bernard Reichman officiated.
