Longtime Milwaukee resident Gerda H. Oelsner died Aug. 29, at the age of 91.
A native of Germany, she came to Milwaukee from Shanghai, China, in 1948. She was a member of Congregation Shalom.
Her special interests included needle-pointing pillows, crocheting baby blankets for her great-grandchildren, knitting, crossword puzzles and playing cards with friends and family, according to her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Manfred Oelsner, in 1967. She is survived by daughter Edith (Neil) Shafer of Fox Point; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Rabbi Ronald Shapiro officiated at funeral services Aug. 30. Burial was in Second Home Cemetery.
