Frederick P. Strouse

Milwaukee native Frederick P. Strouse, 78, of River Hills, died May 5 of pneumonia.
He graduated from Whitefish Bay High School in 1947 and from Purdue University in 1951. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a second lieutenant and was the recipient of many professional and honorary educational awards, according to his family.

He worked for Eaton Corp as an electrical engineer and helped design the electrical system for New York’s Lincoln Center. Based on that work, “he was asked to help [with] the opera house in Palm Beach [Fla.],” his family said.

He was a member of Congregation Shalom and its Brotherhood. He especially enjoyed crossword puzzles, travel, dining at fine restaurants and his work.

He is survived by wife Edith, son Paul of Milwaukee and daughter Idala of Chicago.

Rabbi Ronald Shapiro officiated at graveside services in Second Home Cemetery, May 8.

Memorials for Parkinson’s disease research would be appreciated by the family.
