Native Milwaukeean Florence Katz (nee Cohen) died Feb. 5 at the age of 91. The cause of death was a stroke.
She graduated with honors from North Division High School in 1932 and with honors from Marquette University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy in 1936, according to her family.
A long-term resident of Whitefish Bay, she was a member of Congregation Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun, Women’s American ORT, Hadassah and NA’AMAT USA.
Preceded in death by husband Lawrence S. Katz in 2000, she is survived by sons Rusty (Susan) Katz and Dusty (Lauren) Katz both of Bayside; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Rabbi Marc Berkson officiated at graveside services Feb. 8 in Mound Zion Cemetery.
