Glendale resident Evelyn Matras Strauss died April 24 of complications from lung disease. She was 84.
Born in Milwaukee, she attended Whitefish Bay High School and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She was a member of Congregation Shalom and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Strauss, in 1964. She is survived by daughter Sherry (Joseph) Ostrin-Allen of Henderson, Nev.; sister Joyce (Marvin) Smith of Palm Spings, Calif.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Rabbi Ronald Shapiro officiated at funeral services April 28. Burial was at Spring Hill Cemetery.
