Emma Ertel of Shorewood died June 15. She was 82.
She was a native of Romania and a Holocaust survivor who came to Milwaukee in 1951 from New York.
She was an active member of Congregation Beth Jehudah where her late husband, Julius Ertel, served as president for 25 years. In addition, she enjoyed charitable work, cooking and spending time with her family.
She is survived by daughter Ani (Jerry) Ertel-Magid of Deerfield, Ill., and sons Benny (Cheryl) Ertel of Daytona, Fla., and Jerry Ertel of Milwaukee. Her husband died in 1991.
Rabbi Michel Twerski officiated at the funeral. Burial was in Beth Hamedrosh Hagodel Cemetery.
