Former Milwaukeean Ellen H. Bernstein (nee Friedman) of Highland Park, Ill., died Feb. 20 of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease. She was 62.
She graduated from Washington High School in 1958 and attended Prospect Hall Secretarial School. After graduation, she was employed as a medical secretary at Milwaukee Children’s Hospital. In the early 1960s, she moved to the Chicago area, where she held various medical and legal secretarial positions until her recent retirement.
She is survived by her husband, Lee Bernstein, and sister, Carol (Dr. Irving) Horwitz of Skokie, Ill.
Rabbi James Sagarin officiated at services on Feb. 24. Burial was in Aarrowood Cemetery in Illinois.
