Milwaukee native Dr. Steven M. Pinsky, a radiologist in Chicago, died of myelofibrosis on April 1 in Highland Park, Ill., at the age of 62.
He graduated in 1960 from Nicolet High School, in 1963 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and in 1967 from the Stritch School of Medicine at Loyola University, Chicago. He was further trained in nuclear medicine and radiology at the University of Chicago.
He became a full professor of radiology at both the University of Chicago Medical School and the University of Illinois-Chicago College of Medicine. He also served as chairman of radiology at Michael Reese Hospital and chief of radiology at the University of Illinois Medical Center.

In addition he served the Jewish community as vice-president of the North Suburban JCC. He was a member of Temple Jeremiah in Northfield, Ill.
According to his family, his special interests included travel, sports and history and he was a voracious reader, but most important was his family. Even though he lived in Chicago, he remained a life-long Green Bay Packers fan, they said.
Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Skokie on April 4. Rabbi Paul Cohen officiated.
