A memorial service to celebrate the life of optometrist Dr. Sheldon Stone, a Bayside resident, will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2 p.m., at Beth El Ner Tamid Synagogue. He died May 5.
A Chicago native, he earned his optometry degree from the University of Chicago. He and his wife, Millie, moved to Milwaukee in 1946.
He was a past member of Congregation Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun and North Shore Country Club, where he was an avid golfer.
His family said he was a man who always put his family first and loved life. “We will miss you while you’re calculating odds at the big racetrack in the sky,” they said.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by children Richard Stone of Milwaukee, Leslie “Suki” Stone of San Diego and Robert Stone of New Jersey.
Memorials to Stone Education Systems, Inc., P.O. Box 17032, Milwaukee, WI 53217 were suggested by the family.
