Born in Louisville, Ky., Cornfield moved to Milwaukee when he was a child. He graduated from Washington High School in 1952 and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he received his medical degree in 1959.

After serving in the Air Force in Texas, he returned to Milwaukee in 1963, where he practiced medicine with his brother Jerome for 36 years.

He was an active member of Congregation Beth Israel, as well as Kehilat Ner Doshim in Kfar Sava. According to his family, he was a “staunch Zionist.” He also “pledged himself to the daily morning minyan,” they said.

The family appreciates memorial contributions to Congregation Beth Israel.
