Born in Appleton, she graduated from Appleton High School in 1946 and then moved to Milwaukee, where she lived most of her life.

She worked as a secretary until she had a family and then as a homemaker, her family said.

Her special interests included her children and grandchildren, current events, health and business news, music, reading and games. She was a “masterful Jeopardy player,” loved movies, holidays, going out to lunch and was “a wonderful homemaker and cook,” her family said.

Preceded in death by brother David Blacher, she is survived by daughters Nancy (Howard) Shimon of Mequon and Sandy (Steve) Borenstein of Whitefish Bay; brother Ben Blacher of Mequon; sisters Bess Lichterman of Glendale and Sarah Blacher (Gary) Cohen of Albany, N.Y.; and four grandchildren.

Memorials to Congregation Shalom would be appreciated by the family.
