Dorothea “Dottie” Goldberg

Long-time Madison resident Dorothea Harriette “Dottie” Goldberg (nee Marcus) died Feb. 20 at the age of 79.

She was born and raised in Spring Green. After moving to Madison, she married Gordon Goldberg in 1941.

She was well-known in the community as the owner of the Knitting Tree, a business she operated from 1970 until retiring three years ago.

She is survived by sons Steven (Marcy) Goldberg of Stockton, Calif., and David Goldberg of Palo Alto, Calif.; daughter Laurie (Stephen) Pevnick of Milwaukee; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1973.

Rabbi Jan Brahms officiated at the funeral on Feb. 22. Burial was in Madison.
