Funeral services were held July 4 for David Samuel Saffro of Milwaukee. He died July 2 of cardiac disease at age 78.
The Milwaukee native graduated from Washington High School and attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, Shorewood Branch.
He belonged to Beth El Ner Tamid Synagogue and Masonic Lodge No. 261 F & AM. A stamp collector, he also enjoyed history, fishing and playing tennis.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Saffro (nee Lazarus); daughters Ellen (John) Gambrell of Manhattan Beach, Calif., and Barbara (Joe) Ebel of Waukesha; son Bruce (Carolyn) Saffro of Jacksonville, Fla.; and four grandchildren.
Rabbi Gideon Goldenholz officiated at the funeral. Burial was in Second Home Cemetery.
Contributions to the Beth El Beautification Fund were suggested by the family.
