Charlotte Teweles

Funeral services were held Sept. 21 for Charlotte Teweles (nee Weil) of Fox Point. She died Sept. 19 of pneumonia at the age of 92.

Born in Minneapolis, she graduated from Smith College in 1931 and moved to Milwaukee in 1932. She earned a master’s degree in 1960 at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

A retired social worker for Milwaukee County, she was a member of Congregation Sinai, the American Jewish Committee, Park People and the Fox Point Garden Club. Her family said she was especially interested in gardening.

She is survived by son Hugh (Anne) Teweles of Milwaukee and daughters Jane (Jack) Shlimovitz of Milwaukee and Anne (Ray) Render of Idaho Springs, Colo. Her husband, Richard Teweles, died in 1969.

Rabbi Jay Brickman officiated at the service. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.

The family would appreciate memorials to Congregation Sinai.
