Celia Perlstein

Longtime Milwaukeean Celia Perlstein (nee Paykel) died of congestive heart failure Oct. 27.

She was born in Sheboygan and graduated from Sheboygan High School in 1925. She came to Milwaukee in 1931.

She was a member of Congregation Shalom, Hadassah, B’nai B’rith Women and the World Jewish Congress.

She especially enjoyed music, bingo, baseball, figure skating and her grandchildren, according to her family.

Preceded in death by her husband, Harry Perlstein, in 2003, she is survived by son Jerry (Sandi) Perlstein of Scottsdale, Ariz.; daughter Sandra (Henry) Albert of Milwaukee; sisters Hildegard (Sol) Kosberg of Milwaukee and Florence Rudoy of Minneapolis; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Rabbi Ronald Shapiro officiated at funeral services at Goodman-Bensman Whitefish Bay Funeral Home, Oct. 31. Burial was in Agudas Achim Cemetery.

Memorials to Congregation Shalom would be appreciated by the family.
