Bess Rudberg Kristal

Native Milwaukeean Bess (Bessie) Kristal, nee Rudberg, died on Aug. 8 of ovarian cancer. She was 87.

She graduated from Washington High School, and then went on to graduate from Marquette University in 1940 with a degree in economics.

She was active in Hadassah, and was the citywide financial secretary for the organization. She was a member of Beth El Ner Tamid Synagogue, and was active in the synagogue sisterhood. She enjoyed knitting, playing bridge and baking.

She was preceded in death by husband Morris Kristal in 2001. She is survived by brother Jack (Sylvia) Rudberg of Milwaukee; daughter Susan Wine of New York; son Dr. David (Barbie) Kristal of Columbus, Ohio; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Rabbi Gideon Goldenholz officiated at funeral services on Aug. 11. Burial was at Spring Hill Cemetery.

Memorials to Ruth Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
