Longtime Milwaukee resident Berte Ackerman, nee Rosenfield, died March 19.
She was born in Russia and came to Wisconsin from Chicago as a small child.
“She had a beautiful singing voice and loved to entertain large groups as well as private parties,” said her daughter, Natalie Marks of Las Vegas. She also wrote, directed and produced plays, both in English and Yiddish, Marks said.
“Berte was a very kind, warm and loving person [and she] will be dearly missed by her family and the many [people] she has touched,” Marks said.
She was preceded in death by husbands David Silverman, Joseph Feiring and Wilmur Ackerman, and by a daughter, Lenore Lieberman. In addition to her daughter, she is survived by son Ronald (Alyce) Silverman of Del Ray Beach, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Private burial services were held.
