Bernard Sharp

Longtime Milwaukee resident Bernard Sharp, D.P.M., died of old age in Richmond, Calif., on Oct. 13. He was 90.

Born in Calumet, Mich., he came to Milwaukee as a young child. He graduated from North Division High School in 1933 and Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine in 1939.

He owned his own podiatry practice on Milwaukee’s West Side for 50 years, according to his family.

He was a member of Temple Menorah, where he served as president during the 1960s. He also belonged to B’nai B’rith, Shofar Chapter; and the American Society of Podiatric Medicine.

His family said that his interests included golf, table tennis, billiards, badminton, square dancing, Humanistic Judaism, organic gardening, vegetarianism and natural hygiene.

Preceded in death by his wife, Kate Sharp, in 1995, he is survived by daughters Karen Sharp of Richmond, Calif., and Sage Madrone of Oviedo, Fla.; son Arthur (Pam) Sharp of Carson City, Nev.; and sister Beatrice Karan of Glendale.

Memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association would be appreciated by the family.
