Bernard Goldstein

A memorial service, officiated by Rabbi David Cohen and Rabbi Emeritus Jay Brickman, was held at Congregation Sinai on Nov. 3 for former Milwaukeean Bernard Goldstein. He died at age 72 on Oct. 26 of heart failure in Naples, Fla., where the funeral was held.

Born in Atlantic City, N.J., he earned a bachelor of science and a law degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He served as an officer during the Korean War.
In 1957, he began practicing law in Milwaukee, and was a member of the Wisconsin State Bar Association.

According to his family, he was especially interested in the law and equal justice, fishing, carpentry and furniture building. He was also a past board member of Congregation Sinai.

He is survived by wife, Rosalie Alschuler Goldstein of Naples; sons Dr. Daniel (Sheila) Goldstein of St. Louis and Dr. Edward (Debra) Goldstein of Atlanta; daughter Ellen (Yann Derriennic) Goldstein of Washington, D.C.; sister Evelyn Weinstein; and eight grandchildren.

Donations in his memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Congregation Sinai.
