Former Milwaukee businessman Ben Feenberg died of cancer Dec. 15 in Tamarac, Fla. He was 90.
He was born in Fort Smith, Ark., moved to Dallas in 1925 and graduated from high school there in 1928. After working in west Texas oil fields, he entered Southern Methodist University, graduating number one in his class in 1935. He was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and the honorary business fraternity Beta Gamma Sigma.
He moved to Milwaukee in 1937 and at first entered the movie theater business. He married Lucille Adelman in 1940 and joined the family dry cleaning business in 1949, becoming executive vice president. After the business was sold in 1968, Feenberg remained with the company until 1972, when he and his wife moved to Florida.
In Milwaukee, he was a member of Congregation Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun, and remained so after he moved to Florida, and was a charter member of Brynwood Country Club. In Florida, he belonged to the Woodlands Country Club.
In addition to his wife, Feenberg is survived by daughters Carol Tuttle of Houston, Jo Ann (Bill) Rosen of New York, and Judy (Alan) Morris of Clearwater, Fla.; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services and burial were in Florida.
