In Milwaukee, she was a member of Congregation Beth Israel, its Sisterhood and seniors club, Hadassah, NA’AMAT-USA and Women’s American ORT.
An avid reader of books and newspapers, she also enjoyed knitting. According to her family, “She was a woman who cared about people. Everyone found it easy to talk to her because she listened with her heart.”
She is survived by daughter Judith (Irwin) Margolis of Milwaukee, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her husband, Irving Butler, died in 1987.
Rabbi Jacob Herber officiated at the funeral. Burial was in Second Home Cemetery.
