Barry William Ellman died of cancer Aug. 28 at the age of 56.
He was born in Milwaukee and graduated from Washington High School in 1962. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and UW-Oshkosh, receiving bachelor of science degrees in history and secondary education. He was employed as a software tech support analyst at SRC, formerly Wisconsin Bell.
He was a member of Congregation Beth Israel. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading, history, biking, museums and the performing arts.
He is survived by his wife Susan (nee Reeds); daughters Chana, Alisa, and Shulamith, at home; and brothers Norman (Carrie) Ellman of Philadelphia and Sheldon (Irene) Ellman of Oscoda, Mich.
Rabbi Paul Kerbel officiated at graveside services at Anshai Lebowitz Cemetery on Aug. 31.
The family would appreciate memorials to the Milwaukee Jewish Day School or the United Performing Arts Fund.
