Barry Garrison of Bayside died May 20 of heart failure after a long illness. He was 68.
He attended the Milwaukee University School (now University School of Milwaukee) and Whitefish Bay High School, graduating in 1953. He earned engineering and business degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Marquette University.
He was president and CEO of Barry Garrison Associates Group in Whitefish Bay, a commercial and industrial real estate company.
He served on the boards of the Jewish Home and Care Center, Jewish Community Center and St. Mary’s Hospice and was a member of the International Real Estate Federation and Milwaukee Board of Realtors.
In addition to his family, he was especially interested in golf, sporting events, reading and the International Cycling Classic.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Garrison (née Pereles); sons Andrew and Michael (Hilary) Garrison of Milwaukee; sister Cathy (Ronald) Melnikoff of Seattle; brother-in-law Edward (Kathleen) Pereles of Philadelphia; sister-in-law Babs (Robert) Benton of Deerfield, Ill.; and two grandchildren.
Rabbi Ronald Shapiro officiated at funeral services at Congregation Shalom on May 24. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
Memorials to the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, National Kidney Foundation or Congregation Shalom would be appreciated by the family.
