Barbara Rice (nee Siesel) died March 10 at Columbia Hospital at the age of 81.
She attended Shorewood High School, then Antioch College in Ohio, from which she graduated as a certified dietitian. She returned to Milwaukee and married Irwin M. Rice, who died in 1976.
She worked for Boston Store, then for the University of Wisconsin Extension in Milwaukee until she retired in 1981. Years of travel followed until ill health restricted her movement. She was a member of Congregation Sinai.
Survivors include sons Michael (Caron) Rice, Sidney (Monica) Rice and Peter (Ann) Rice; daughter Melissa (Dennis) Petersdorf; sister Sally (Herbert) Eisen; and nine grandchildren.
Rabbis Michel and Benzion Twerski officiated at the funeral on March 14, and Rabbi Jay Brickman gave the eulogy. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
