Anne Goldstein (nee Grodinsky) died Feb. 27 at the age of 88.
She was born in Fond du Lac and moved to Milwaukee as a youngster. She was married for 48 years to Charles Goldstein, who died in 1992. The couple made their home in Calumet City, Ill., until 1975, when they moved to Deerfield Beach, Fla. In 1995, she returned to Milwaukee and in 2000 became a resident of Chai Point.
She taught religious school at Congregation Knesseth Israel in Hammond, Ind., and was president of its sisterhood. For ten years, she owned and operated a kosher catering service.
Active in many service organizations, she was president of her B’nai B’rith chapters in Milwaukee, Hammond and Deerfield Beach. Upon moving back to Milwaukee, she became active in the Jewish War Veterans of the USA Auxiliary. At Chai Point, she was president of the Residents Council and the Sunshine Club.
She is survived by daughters Neala Goldstein of Calumet City, Sharryl Goldstein of San Francisco, and Marcey Goldstein of Greenfield, Mass.; and a grandson.
Rabbis Shlomo Pontos and Baruch Comrov officiated at a memorial service at the Jewish Home and Care Center Chapel on Feb. 28. Burial was in North Lauderdale, Fla.
