Some 500 former Camp Interlaken campers and staff, along with family and friends, attended the Double Chai Reunion weekend at Camp Interlaken, the residential camp of the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center, Aug. 3-5 in Eagle River.
Highlights of the three-day celebration included an opening night dinner and retrospective video, alumni basketball game, Torah study with former camp director Ateret Cohn and JCC director of Judaic education Jody Hirsh, camp tours, Shabbat and Havdallah services with campers and a ceremony to formalize the camp’s name as the Steve & Shari Sadek Family Camp Interlaken JCC. The Sadeks made a one million dollar gift to the camp last summer.
In addition to Cohn, former camp directors attending were Jack Weiner and Jon Levin. Reunion co-chairs were Karen and Jason Gottlieb, Patti and Jeff Langer, Cheryl and Mitch Moser, Cindi and David Samson, and Jason Pelz.
