Students in the photo are serving soup at the Milwaukee Jewish Day School Empty Bowls event ¬– those getting soup can have their purchased bowls filled by the students. On Feb. 5, the Center for Jewish Learning and the Israel Center, both of Milwaukee Jewish Federation, and StandWithUs cosponsored a program about Israel for 6th-7th graders in the community. There were over 50 young people in total from Congregation Shalom of Fox Point, Congregation Sinai of Fox Point, Congregation Emanu-El of Waukesha, Congregation Beth Israel Ner Tamid of Glendale, plus Milwaukee Community Hebrew School and Bader Hillel Academy of Fox Point. Tzipi Altman-Shafer, Jewish Education Community Planner for Milwaukee Jewish Federation, speaks on Sunday, Feb. 19 at a mid-winter teacher in-service at Congregation Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun. There were 28 teachers from Congregation Shalom of Fox Point, Congregation Sinai of Fox Point, Congregation Emanu-El of Waukesha, Congregation Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun of River Hills, Congregation Beth Israel Ner Tamid of Glendale.
