Torah Academy of Milwaukee holds an annual performance, and the show this year is an adaptation of Mark Twain’s classic, “The Prince and the Pauper,” now set in Victorian England during the late 1830s. This photo is of rehearsal. The story follows two young girls — Princess Victoria, heir to the throne, and Penny Canty, a poor flower girl — who bear a striking resemblance despite their vastly different lives. When the two meet by chance and trade clothes for fun, the palace servants mistake Penny for the princess and unknowingly cast Victoria out. The performance is for women and girls, held Feb. 23, 2025, 2 and 7 p.m., at the Harry and Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center, 6255 N. Santa Monica Blvd., Milwaukee. Adult Tickets: $18 in advance, $22 day of performance. Student Tickets: $15 in advance, $18 day of performance. $54 patron tickets.
