Josh Manders, a senior from Cherry Hill, New Jersey studying biology, is a student leader for the Challahbration club. Last year, he successfully applied to have it registered as a school organization. Student Lacey Brooks oversees the ovens and making the dough each week. Here she is, with some dough in March. Rhinelander native Liana Teter is a University of Wisconsin-Madison junior, majoring in life sciences, communication and art history. She rolled challah at a Challabration club event, on March 6. The Challahbration student club had students making challah at the Madison Hillel building on March 6. “I’m Jewish. I brought my roommates who aren’t Jewish to come experience my culture,” said Eli Hyman, at right. Sanshray Vallecha, a junior and a neurobiology and nutriscience major, and Connor Dethloff, a junior and a mechanical engineering major, both from Pewaukee, joined Hyman, a senior biochemistry major from Los Angeles, to make challah.
