Tessmer will lead foundation

Chad Tessmer is the new president of the Jewish Home & Care Center Foundation. He started Sept. 29.

Tessmer will execute the Foundation’s mission to support Ovation Communities, which include the Jewish Home and Care Center, Chai Point and Kavod Terrace. He will lead all fundraising efforts in partnership with Ovation’s leadership, ensure effective management of the Foundation’s invested assets, and oversee the distribution of grants which support Ovation Communities.

Tessmer previously served as the chief marketing officer for the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center for over a decade. Most recently, he served as executive director of the Milwaukee Youth Arts Center and MYAC Foundation, where he led change in the organization’s revenue models, rebuilt its culture of hospitality, and delivered new partnership opportunities for growth, according to a press release.

“Tessmer’s executive leadership experience, strong communication skills, knowledge of Milwaukee’s general and Jewish communities, and his collaborative approach made him the best choice to lead the Foundation into the future,” said Board President Rick Strait.

“It is a privilege to be joining the team of leaders supporting the Jewish Home and Care Center Foundation,” Tessmer said.
