Passover food drive to focus on matzah

The Community Passover Food Drive is focused on matzah this year, according to organizers.

The Community Passover Food Drive (Ma’ot Chittim) is an annual event. This year, food will be collected from Sunday, March 9 through Sunday, March 30, at several sites throughout the community. Distribution will be Sunday, April 6. Matzah is the only food item being collected this year.

The last day to request food is Wednesday, April 2. Passover food bags include kosher chicken, matzah, grape juice, matzah ball soup mix, gefilte fish, horseradish and candles.

Last year, more than 415 food bags were distributed within Milwaukee’s Jewish community.

Locations collecting Kosher for Passover matzah: Chabad of the East Side; Congregation Anshai Lebowitz; Congregation Beth Israel Ner Tamid; Congregation Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun; Congregation Shalom; Congregation Sinai; Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center; Hillel Milwaukee; Jewish Family Services; Milwaukee Jewish Day School; Milwaukee Jewish Federation; and Yeshiva Elementary.
