Election Day is Nov. 5 | Wisconsin Jewish Chronicle

Election Day is Nov. 5

If we were in a different state, it might have been all crickets.

But here in Wisconsin, we’re seeing billboards and commercials, feeling the constant buzz in our pockets of election outreach. We are one of about seven swing states, expected to determine the outcome of the presidential election.

Election Day, finally, is Tuesday, Nov. 5, concluding one of the most contentious and consequential election seasons in memory. On that, at least, both sides are agreed.

In the race for president, Vice President Kamala Harris faces former President Donald Trump. Polls indicate the race could be a close call.

Here are two more races that could be highly competitive:

For the U.S. Senate, Democratic incumbent Tammy Baldwin is seeking a third term. She is being challenged by Republican businessman Eric Hovde.

State Sen. Duey Stroebel, a Republican, is running for reelection to the state Senate. He currently represents District 20, but with redistricting, he is now running against Democrat Jodi Habush Sinykin in District 8, which includes much of the Milwaukee area’s North Shore.
