Milwaukee offers Chanukah bobbleheads to the world

Need a fun Chanukah gift? The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum has got you covered.

The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum is offering limited edition bobbleheads for Chanukah. The organization released its bobble menorahs and bobble dreidels last year.

Customers can choose from three different versions of the bobble menorahs, all with different color patterns on the candles, said Phil Sklar, co-founder and CEO of the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum.

The items include a dreidel that bobbles on its base and chanukiahs that have flames from candles on springs.

“This year is sort of the first full year that we’ll be able to promote them and have them in stock for people to get for Chanukah, whether it’s for them to have them on display at their own house, or to give them as a gift, or hopefully both,” Sklar said.

In the past, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum had created several Christmas themed bobbleheads but no Chanukah ones.

“I do think it’s really important and good to have bobbleheads for all the various holidays, and Jewish holidays are definitely underrepresented when it comes to bobbleheads. I think it’s something that people can be proud of and have on their desk or have in their window and can show off their pride,” he said.

Sklar, a member of Congregation Shalom, Milwaukee, has produced other Jewish themed bobbleheads for the Museum. He created a bobblehead of Rabbi Ronald Michael Shapiro for his 2015 retirement from Congregation Shalom.

Their best-selling bobblehead of all time is Dr. Fauci, Sklar said. With each purchase of Dr. Fauci, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum donates $5 to the American Hospital Association’s Protect the Heroes Campaign, raising money for PPE for first responders.

Originally released in April 2020, the bobbleheads have raised over $300,000 in combination with other pandemic related bobbleheads, Sklar said.
