David Adashek 

David Adashek died on Nov. 24, 2020, at 82 years old in Highland Park, Illinois, of COVID-19. He was 6 days shy of his 83rd birthday. He will forever be remembered not only as a businessperson driven by ideas, but most importantly as a loving husband, father, mentor and friend to so many. Due to the pandemic, he was comforted in the hospital by visits from his loving wife Pam, frequent Zoom calls with  his children and grandchildren and was surrounded by the music he loved. 
David was the beloved son of the late Sara and David Adashek. Beloved husband of Pam Cohen Adashek and the late Ann Simons Adashek. Dear father of Jamie Adashek, Denver, Colorado; Lisa (Roberto) Del Campo, Oswego, Illinois; Daniel (Hongvien) Adashek, Dallas, Texas; Jonathan (Jeannie) Adashek, Scarsdale, New York; Andrew (Phet) Adashek, Los Angeles, California, and stepfather of Jon (Genevieve Gonzalez-Turner) Cohen, Los Angeles, California. Fond brother of the late Earl (Freda) Adashek and the late Harriet Schefrin. Fond brother-in-law of Ellen (Martin) Friend, Chicago, Illinois; Larry (Marjorie) Moss, Mill Valley, California; Eric (Kathy) Moss, Boca Raton, Florida, and Rozzi (Fritz) Schultz, Lake Zurich, Illinois. Loving grandfather of Alec Ottevanger, Sara and Jordan Freed, Alenna and Nicholas Del Campo, Miles, Simon, Dylan, Benjamin, Ariel, Mikaela and Ava Adashek, Emilia and Ethan Cohen-Gonzalez. Adrienne Black 

Adrienne Black (nee Shavzin) of Hollywood, Florida, formerly of Milwaukee, died Dec. 13, 2020, at the age of 83. She was predeceased by her younger brother, Jay, and her beloved husband, Mel. She is survived by her two sisters, Lorell Owens, also of Hollywood, Florida, and Melanie (Marc) Korman of Milwaukee. She will also be dearly missed by her many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.  

Fanya Blinder 

Fanya Blinder died Jan.19, 2021, at the age of 93. Beloved wife of the late Michael Blinder. Cherished mother of Joseph (Raisa) Blinder and Mina (the late Simon) Blitman. Loving grandmother of Dmitriy Blitman and Nathen (Ulyana) Blitman and dear great-grandmother of Alex and Max Blitman. Further survived by other loving relatives and dear friends. Dr. Lev Dulkin 

Dr. Lev Dulkin died on Jan. 18, 2021, at the age of 82. Beloved husband of Mila Dulkin (nee Berzon). Loving father of Inna Dulkin and proud grandfather of Anya and Aya Vlasoff. Private graveside service held at Mound Zion Cemetery with Rabbi Yaakov Elman officiating. Goodman-Bensman Whitefish Bay Funeral Home assisted the family. Lee A. Fensin 

Lee A. Fensin of Waukesha died on Jan. 27, 2021, at the age of 76. Loving husband of Marsha Fensin (nee Gelbart). Adoring father of Scott S. Fensin and Lori M. Fisher. Doting grandfather of Alex J. Fisher, Arielle S. Fisher, Ivie C. Fensin, Aubree S. Fisher, and Reda Fensin. Chiding brother of Kenneth (Cindy) Fensin. Further survived by other family and friends. Lee was born August 3, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois. He attended South Shore High School and the University of Illinois. He spent his entire professional career as the Sports Editor at the Waukesha Freeman for 48 years. He also contributed to the Wisconsin Jewish Chronicle. He taught all who knew him the following: 
1. All jokes are funny provided you select the right audience. 
2. Laughter is medicinal and spiritually uplifting. 
3. Trying to grab the bill away from him after a family meal out risked losing an arm. 
4. The most important word in the term “community newspaper” is the first word. 
5. One doesnt deserve anything, one earns. 
6. Grammar police is an honorable professional pursuit. The minimum sentence in kangaroo court for misusing there, their, or theyre should be 2-5 minutes of public ridicule. 
7. Have dessert first. 
8. Being nice, kind, thoughtful, genuine, generous, and selfless takes very little effort and comes around in spades. 
9. Anyone who wants to know the true meaning of “love” need only study his nearly 52 years of marriage, 49 years of being a parent, and 19 years of being a grandparent. Lee did everything God put him on earth to do.  

His memory will be a blessing to all who knew him. Lee’s favorite sports team was the Chicago Cubs. I know he’d want to share with everyone he knew the wisdom of former Cubs manager Joe Maddon: “Try Not To Suck.” Memorials to Angels Grace Hospice, Congregation Emanuel of Waukesha, HAWS, Waukesha Food Pantry. 

Harold Glick 

Harold Glick of Glendale died on Feb. 14, 2021, at the age of 98. Preceded in death by loving wife Lillian Glick (nee Galatzer) and brother Larry Glick. Dear father of Helaine (David) Glass, Steven Glick, and Jeffrey (Carla) Glick. Cherished grandfather of Michael (Amy) Glass and Alyssa (Shane) Owara. Adoring great-grandfather of Benjamin, Samantha, and Liana Glass; Levi and Jonah Owara. Further survived by other relatives and friends. Hal was a proud World War II Veteran (Army Air Corps) and dedicated long-time member of the Jewish War Veterans.

Lois Goldberg 

Lois Goldberg (nee Moskowitz), formerly of Milwaukee, died in Florida on Jan. 27, 2021, at the age of 80. Beloved wife of the late Gerald Goldberg. Loving mother of Sheri (Michael Smith) Goldberg, Nancy (the late John) Cozart and Karen (Dr. Jeffrey) Galinkin. Proud grandmother of Dan, Alexa, Lindsay (Michael), Bradley (Kaylie), Johnny, Noah, the late Zac and Lila. Dear sister of Bernis Kretchmar. A private graveside service was held at Spring Hill Cemetery on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021, at 11:30 am, with Rabbi Noah Chertkoff officiating. Gerald Hiken

Conrad Connie Cornell Holzman 

Conrad Connie Cornell Holzman of Mequon died on Jan. 22, 2021, at the age of 89 years old. Preceded in death by his former wife and mother of his children, Phyllis, son Bradley, and daughter Beth Holzman. Loving father of Amy, Robert, Vicki, and Sue; father-in-law of Amy Biller Daniels; brother of Riva Goldstein. Cherished grandfather of Amy’s son, Braden Phillip Holzman, and grandfather and great-grandfather of Sue’s children and grandchildren. Survived by many beloved cousins and friends, and Connies special helper cousin/friend, Cindy Holzman.

Burton S. Meyers died at the age of 84. He had lived in the Milwaukee area his entire life. Preceded in death by his sister, Sylvia (the late Ludwig) Haas. Dear brother of Leonard (the late Beverly) Meyers, Judy (Bill) Orttung. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Private burial. Richard Katz 

Richard Katz died Jan. 16, 2021, at the age of 95. Beloved husband of Monica Katz (nee Kalman). Cherished father of Alex Katz. Further survived by other loving relatives and dear friends. Private funeral services were held on Jan. 19 at Second Home Cemetery with Rabbi Cheski Edelman officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made to The Shul, 8825 N. David Saul Levin 

David Saul Levin, age 86, died on Jan. 11, 2021. Beloved husband of Judy (nee Spero) for 59 years. Dear father of Michael (Barbara) Levin and Gail Levin, and proud Papa of Elan and Benjamin. David was the son of Sidney and Ida (nee Lerner) Levin and stepson of Fanny (nee Leiter) Levin, and brother of the late Elaine (Jules) Altenberg and brother-in-law of Neal (Glorya) Spero. 

David was born in Chicago and graduated from Northwestern University and Harvard Law School. He was President of the Tax Executive Institute of Chicago and a National Vice President and was a member of the Civic Federation of Chicago. He also was an Officer of North Shore Congregation Israel, Glencoe, Illinois. His warm smile and easygoing manner will be missed by his lifelong Chicago and newer Milwaukee friends. The family expresses many thanks to his caregivers and the staff at Ovation Jewish Home and Care Center in Milwaukee.

Daniel H. Rabenn 

Daniel H. Rabenn died Feb. 10, 2021, at the age of 57.  Preceded in death by beloved parents, Dr. William and Charlotte Rabenn (nee Plotkin). Loving brother of Andrew, Lawrence (Anne), and Tom (Andrea) Rabenn. Dear uncle of Joshua, Benjamin, Jack, Rachel, Abigail, Michael and Lucas Rabenn and great-uncle of Kaleb, Reese and Lona Rabenn. Further survived by other loving relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the funeral home on Friday, February 12, 2021, with Rabbi David Cohen officiating. Burial was at Mound Zion Cemetery.  Goodman-Bensman Whitefish Bay Funeral Home assisted the family.  Memorial contributions made to National Alliance on Mental Illness – Wisconsin (NAMI Wisconsin) or Jewish Family Services appreciated. 

Allen Samson

Robert (Bob) Donald Shapiro 

Robert (Bob) Donald Shapiro peacefully passed away in his home on Feb. 11, 2021, at the age of 78. He will always be remembered for his wit and humor and cherished by all who called him Bob, Dad, Grandpa, Papa and Uncle Bob. He will live on in our hearts. 
 
An actuary and consultant to life insurance companies and other related organizations for more than 50 years, he was respected for his “outside of the box” thinking and commitment to long-term visioning. He was a co-founder and of The Concerned Actuaries Group, who are developing a holistic analysis to improve our Medicare system. 
 
Bob’s deepest love was always family. Born Sept. 11, 1942, he was preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Adeline Shapiro. He is survived by his wife, Karen and five children: Lee Shapiro, Stacy (Dan) Baumgardt, Jenifer Shapiro, Tracy Shapiro, and Jeff (Dani) Shapiro as well as five grandchildren: Hunter and Sawyer Baumgardt, Evan Shapiro, Marcus and Mia Shapiro. Also survived by four siblings, Richard (Karen) Shapiro, Jon (Eileen) Shapiro, Sue (Tim) Hilliker and Brion Shapiro.

Edith Strouse 

Edith Strouse (Nee Wolinsky) died Jan. 18, 2021. 

She is survived by her children; Paul and Idala, as well as her two grandchildren. Edith was a graduate of Washington High School. She married her husband of 50 years, Frederick P. Strouse. She was both a loving mother and wife, spending her time raising her children and managing the household. As her children got older, she volunteered her time for the Salvation Army, traveled and collected antiques such as jewelry and Chanel. She loved to watch musicals, play jokes on April Fool’s day, engage in many social activities, and was affectionately called “Bubbie” by her grandchildren, who will greatly miss her. She was smart, witty, charitable, kind and a beautiful person inside and outside. The hole in her families’ hearts will be there forever due to her loss. Marshall Harris Weingarten  

Marshall Harris Weingarten, born Jan. 2, 1942, died on Jan. 17, 2021, at the age of 79.  

He is survived by his wife, Judith Kaufman Weingarten, and two daughters Roberta Weingarten and Stacey Weingarten. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Rose Weingarten; his brother, Mark Weingarten; his parents-in-law, David and Rose Kaufman; and his sister-in-law, Brenda Safer. 

Marshall was born in Milwaukee and attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. From there, he went on to work with Stone’s Jewelers. In his free time, he volunteered in the NICU at Overland Park Regional Medical Center, where he rocked babies for seven years. He was a member of Congregation Beth Torah in Overland Park, Kansas.  

He was buried at Mount Moriah Cemetery in Kansas City, Missouri on Jan. 20, 2021. Mount Moriah Funeral Home assisted the family. Memorial contributions can be sent to Congregation Beth Torah or Circle of Hope Foundation. 

William Zamsky 

William Zamsky died Jan. 26, 2021, at the age of 90.  Beloved husband of the late Janice Zamsky (nee Appel). Loving father of Susan (Hungsun) Hui and Jill Zamsky and stepfather of Jackie (Steve) Blumberg and Eliot (Tina) Wasserman. Proud grandfather of Alyssa, Christopher, Jenna, Matthew and Aaron and great-grandfather of Aria. Dear brother of Nora Berndt and Marvin Zamsky. Private service at Mound Zion Cemetery, Brookfield, with Rabbi Steve Adams officiating. Goodman-Bensman Whitefish Bay Funeral Home assisted the family.
