Former Chronicle editor Eglash represents ambassador

NEW YORK – Israel’s United Nations Ambassador Gilad Erdan has appointed Ruth Eglash, a past assistant editor for the Wisconsin Jewish Chronicle, as his chief communications officer for the international media.

Eglash, a daughter-in-law of Judy and Norb Eglash of Glendale, has decades of experience in journalism. For the past eight years, she reported on Israel and the Palestinian territories for the Washington Post and was previously a long-time senior editor and reporter at the Jerusalem Post.

“Ruth’s wealth of journalism experience and her deep knowledge of current affairs will serve our nation extremely well,” said Erdan. “Having a person on my team with a deep understanding of the media in order to present Israel’s positions on key issues was of the utmost importance to me and our government. We are delighted to have her on board.”

“A strong U.S.-Israel relationship and showcasing Israel’s successes to the world has always been a passion of mine,” said Eglash. “My experiences as a journalist have afforded me a great instinct of how to better tell Israel’s unique story and I am honored to have been chosen by Ambassador Erdan for this role.”
