Congregation Sinai waiting to hold outdoor services

Congregation Sinai of Fox Point has been hoping to hold outdoor Kabbalat Shabbat Services since late June, but rain and escalating numbers of local COVID-19 cases led a “Safer at Sinai” task force to choose to wait, said Rabbi David Cohen.

He said the task force hopes to see COVID-19 numbers trend much lower.

The congregation has been holding live digital services. Congregants Andy Tarnoff and Jim Salinsky have assisted the with video streaming technology for outdoor services.

“Should the weather and health department statistics concur, outdoor services would take place with social distancing, masks and further precautions,” Cohen said.

Cohen hopes to hold an outdoor service before the High Holy Days, he said.
