Friendship Circle coffee shop is open

The Friendship Circle of Wisconsin coffee shop is now open daily, except Shabbat.

The Chronicle was first to report the plans to open this new kind of coffee shop, representing an idea with little precedent, if any. The Friendship Circle mission is to provide people with special needs the support, friendship, and inclusion they deserve, and that includes local people working at the new coffee shop.

In this photo, clockwise from the foreground, are Arlene Dombeck, Mitchell Spector, Henry Eskin and Steven Sandler. They gathered for coffee at the shop on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019.

Friendship Circle of Wisconsin is an arm of Lubavitch of Wisconsin.

The coffee shop is certified kosher. It’s at 8649 N. Port Washington Road, Fox Point. 414-755-5855.
