‘Boogie Without Borders’ dance-a-thon to benefit HIAS

Congregation Sinai is hosting “Boogie Without Borders,” a dance-a-thon to benefit the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, HIAS, on Feb. 1 from 6 p.m. to midnight.

HIAS was created to assist Jews with immigration and resettlement into the United States. Through both world wars, HIAS assisted Jewish refugees and aided resettlement in the U.S. HIAS recently launched the Border Response Program, an emergency response program at the southern border to combat the effects of the current U.S. immigration policies, according to organizers.

The event is co-sponsored by the Congregation Sinai Social Justice Committee; Congregation Beth Israel Ner Tamid Social Action Committee; Jewish Community Relations Council of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation; Sinai Women of Congregation Sinai; Congregation Emanu-el B’ne Jeshurun; Congregation Shalom; Shir Hadash; and Tikkun Ha-Ir.

An $18 donation is the minimum to attend; $36 is the cost of admission plus t-shirt; and for families the fee is $72. Children under 5 attend free. Food and snacks will be provided.

All money raised will go toward the Border Response Program. The event is open to all, but you must have a ticket to attend. For tickets, to donate or more details, visit Crowdrise.com/Boogie-Without-Borders
