Felix Bandos

Felix Bandos of Efrat, Israel died March 27, 2019. He was 98.

He came to Wisconsin from Falun Sweden following the war and his marriage to Feiga in Bergen Belsen, with his son Marcus. He worked for many years at the Jewish Community Center on Prospect Avenue running the bowling alleys. He then began the Felix Bandos Waste Material Co. in 1971 with his son. He and his beloved wife continued to grow their family with the birth of two daughters, Helen and Marilyn.

He was a member of Congregation Agudas Achim and later Congregation Beth Jehudah. He was involved in P’Nai, an organization for parents with children living in Israel.

Survived by Feiga, his son Marcus (Melanie), daughters Helen (Mark) Breslow and Marilyn (Yisrael) Broder. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Four years ago, he fulfilled a lifelong wish to make Aliyah to Israel and moved to Efrat to be near his daughter Marilyn. At the time, he and his wife were the oldest individuals to make Aliyah. He became a YouTube star with his arrival and was celebrated in the country.

Michael Berk

Michael Berk of Bonita Springs, Florida died May 18, 2019. He was 76.

He graduated from Washington High School, University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee and Marquette Dental School. He enjoyed flying airplanes, golf and hanging out at the lake with family and friends.

He spent his career as a periodontist in private practice. Six years ago, Michael suffered a serious brain injury, which rendered him homebound. Sally and his caregivers tended lovingly to him. During this time, he continued to laugh and smile daily, play cards and relate to wife Sally with love and affection.

He is survived by spouse Sally Berk, plus sons Bob (Alexis) and Bill (Debbie) and grandchildren. Michael will be remembered for many things, primarily his golden kind soul, his keen mind, his penchant for playfulness and his devotion to family and friends.

Harriet Druch Blumberg

Harriet Druch Blumberg of Glendale died March 25, 2019. She was 92.

She was predeceased by Norman Blumberg.

A graduate of Pulaski High School and Marquette University, Harriet worked as a dental hygienist. She loved volunteering at the Ovation Jewish Home gift shop, 1410 N. Prospect Ave., playing mahjong and the knitting group at Congregation Beth Israel Ner Tamid, 6880 N. Green Bay Ave., Glendale.

Mother of Steven (Jackie) Blumberg, Judith (Robert) Kaplan, Mimi (Donald) Chudnow and Jeffrey Blumberg, with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Second Home Cemetery assisted, with Rabbi Joel Alter and Hazzan Jeremy Stein.

Marilyn Lois Eskin

Marilyn Lois Eskin (nee Vesokie) of Mequon died May 13, 2019.

She was predeceased by Arnold Morton Eskin in 1962. A graduate of Washington High School in 1948, she enjoyed reading, solving crossword puzzles, playing mahjong and walking.

Mother of Elliot (Stephen Carlson) Eskin and Lori Eskin; sister of twins Janice (the late Fred) Meyer and Allan (Diane) Vesokie; nephews; other relatives; and dear friends. Special thanks to all the staff at Lawlis Family Hospice for their care during her final days. Burial at Agudas Achim Chabad Cemetery with Rabbi Moishe Rapoport and Goodman-Bensman Funeral Home.

Beth C. Felix

Beth C. Felix died April 14, 2019.

Beth is survived by her husband Howard and children Audra (Mike) and Jared (fiancee Jamie). Beth is survived by sister Linda (Dr. Mark) and other family. Roberta Ellen Kauer

Roberta Ellen Kayer of Glendale died May 5, 2019. She was 53.

Wife of Fred Kauer and mother of Hillary Moeckler, Lindsay (fiance Michael Krumholz) Kauer and Aaron Kauer. Daughter of Marlene and Jerry Marks and sister of Randy (Bruce Dahnke) and Mitchell (Cathy) Marks. Further survived by others.

Joe N. Kaufman

Joe N. Kaufman of Mequon died May 5, 2019. He was 93.

He is survived by wife Frieda (Schwatz), plus stepsons, grandchildren and friends. He worked in real estate and was a veteran of World War II. Rabbi Noah Chertkoff and Goodman-Bensman assisted.

Evelyn Paschen

Evelyn Paschen of Mequon died April 13, 2019. She was 85.

Wife of James Paschen and mother of Steven (Paulette) Paschen and Janet (Steven) Ste. Marie. Sister of Charlotte (the late Harvey) Mirman. Further survived by other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were at Congregation Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun, 2020 W. Brown Deer Road, River Hills. Interment at Anshai Lebowitz Cemetery. Memorials to Jewish Community Food Pantry, 6255 N. Santa Monica Blvd., Whitefish Bay, WI 53217.

Margie Rotter

Margie Rotter of Milwaukee died April 17, 2019. She was 65.

Preceded in death by her parents Emanuel and Sandra Rotter; sister Barbara Lorsch. Sister of Dr. Steven (Dr. Collette) Rotter. Further survived by other relatives and friends.

Services were at Beth Hamedrosh Hagodel Cemetery. Memorial gifts to Jewish Family Services or National Alliance on Mental Illness are appreciated.

Allan Irving Schwartz

Allan Irving Schwartz of Milwaukee died March 12, 2019. He was 92.

Schwartz was born Sept. 11, 1926 in Milwaukee. He attended University of Wisconsin – Madison and earned a pharmacy degree. He worked as a pharmacist.

He is survived by spouse Roseclaire (nee Weinstein) Schwartz, daughter Carla Newell of Piedmont, California, and grandchildren.

Estelle (Pump) Swerdlow

Estelle (Pump) Swerdlow of Bayside died April 29, 2019. She was 98.

She is survived by spouse Morton Swerdlow and was predeceased by spouse Sam Pump in 1987. A graduate of North Division High School, she worked as a medical technician for Marquette University. Mother of Joseph Pump and the late Daniel Pump.

Judith Ann Weber

Judith Ann Weber of Elgin, Illinois died April 1, 2019. She was 74.

She was born in Milwaukee, a native of Wisconsin. She graduated from Whitefish Bay High School and University of Wisconsin – Madison. She earned a degree in nutritional sciences and dietetics and graduated magna cum laude. She did a residency at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. Her family belonged to the former Congregation Beth Israel. She formerly worked for Pillsbury in Minnesota, Groen in Illinois, Treasure Island Cooking School in Illinois and Kraft. She loved being a cat-mom to her precious fur babies.

Survivors include nephew Robert Macklin (Las Vegas), cousins Ellen Abrams Blankenship (Shorewood), Robert Leon (Germany) and many others. Will be missed by her dear friends Jan Krafka and Carl Gustafson of Elgin. Judith had been a resident of the Chicago area since the 1970s.

Shirley Zembrosky

Shirley Zembrosky of Glendale died April 17, 2019. She was 99.

She was predeceased by husband Nathan Zembrosky. Mother of Alan (Beverly) Zembrosky and Patti (Thomas) Barkin. Further survived by grandchildren and other family.
