Beloved husband of the late Florence Barland. Dear father of Marcia (Gene) Laskey, the late Alan (Rozzie) Barland and Shawn Barland. Loving grandfather of 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Further survived by many relatives and friends.

Sherman W. Hochman
Sherman W. Hochman died Feb. 7, 2019. He was 88.
Beloved husband of Sophie Hochman (nee Primakow). Loving brother of Gina Price, and the late Max Hochman (Frieda), Sara (Dave Siegel), Blanche (Irv Switzky), and Estelle (Irv Finkler). Father of Julie (Greg Wolfe) of Davis, California and Gary (Anne Varco) of Santa Rosa, California. Funeral services were held on Feb. 10 in Davis, California. Phyllis Langer
Phyllis Langer (nee Cohen) of Milwaukee died Jan. 30, 2019. She was 99.
She was born Aug. 12, 1919. Predeceased by beloved spouse Herman Langer in 2011. Dear mother of Cheryl (Paul) Hochenberg and Fred (Jan) Langer. Loving grandmother of Carol and Brian Hochenberg; Matthew and Gregory Langer. The family extends special thanks to the staff at Eastcastle for their dedicated care.
Graveside services were Feb. 1 at Spring Hill Cemetery. Memorial gifts to Congregation Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun or the Alzheimer’s Association preferred.
Place of burial was Spring Hill Cemetery with assistance from Rabbi Marc Berkson and Blane Goodman Funeral Service in Mequon.
Bernard Levy
Bernard Levy died Feb. 8, 2019. He was 93.
Beloved husband of the late Jean Levy (nee Spitz). Loving uncle of Marcy Kaufman, Jeffrey (Donna) Kaufman, Riva (Ellis) Nolley, Mordecai Lee, Tahirih Lee, Shirin (John) Coleman, Dale (David) Schwartz DeTrempe and Lesley (Kenneth) Schwartz-Nason. Further survived by other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral services held Feb. 11 at Ovation Jewish Home and Care Center. Burial was at Second Home Cemetery. Jack “Sonny” E. Meyers
Jack “Sonny” E. Meyers of Fox Point died Jan. 3, 2019. He was 96.
Born May 9, 1922 in Milwaukee. Beloved husband of Barbara Meyers (nee Grabin). Dear father of Louise (Jim) Doornek, Polly Clark, Tom (Pam) Meyers and Richard (Wilma Wallace) Meyers. Fond brother of Lenore Clark.
Jack served as a naval commander on the battleship U.S.S. Missouri in World War II. He was present at the signing of the peace agreement with Japan on Sept. 2, 1945.
Funeral services were Jan. 6 at Congregation Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun. Interment at Spring Hill Cemetery. Memorial gifts to Evans Scholars Foundation, 1 Briar Rd., Golf, IL 60029, are appreciated.

Loving grandfather of Harrison Moshe, Alexis, Harper and Madison Bennett. Dear brother of Dee Dee (Rodney) Ugent, Marcia (Alan Steinberg) Moshe and fond brother-in-law of Rick (Sylvia) Abramson and Jodi Abramson. Loving son of the late Salvator Moshe and the late Thelma Moshe (nee Seiden) and fond son-in-law of Joan Abramson (nee Schultz) and the late Vernon Abramson. Funeral services were Feb. 14 at Temple Menorah. Burial was at Temple Menorah Ever-Rest Cemetery, Milwaukee. Goodman-Bensman Funeral Home assisted the family.

Milton Shapson of Mequon died Jan. 18, 2019. He was 87.
Milton was born Nov. 26, 1931 in Milwaukee.
Beloved husband of Esther Shapiro Shapson and the late Beverly Shapson (nee Musickant). Loving father of Steven (Mary Jo “MJ”) Shapson, David Shapson, Carin (Mark) Pittleman, Dr. Mark Shapson, Anne (David) Kalis. Loving step-father of Sandra Shapiro and Dr. Ilan (Carol) Shapiro.

Janet Yaillen
Janet Yaillen (nee Gould) died Feb. 3, 2019. She was age 85.
Beloved wife of the late Earl Yaillen. Loving mother of Bruce (Judy), Alan (Laurie) and Barry (John Fisher) Yaillen. Proud grandmother of Noam Yaillen, Goldi (Joseph) Sibony and Aliza Yaillen. Dear sister of Elaine Durchslag and Ralph (Maxine) Gould. Further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Edith Gould, and brother-in-law, Ronald Durchslag. She brought people joy through her baking and special friendship.
Funeral services were held at the Goodman-Bensman Whitefish Bay Funeral Home. Interment was at Second Home Cemetery, 3705 S. 43rd St., Milwaukee. There was also a memorial service in Columbus on Feb. 7.
